Long service leave

Employees can negotiate long-service leave and long-service leave benefits with their employer.

Long-service leave is a period of additional leave granted to employees who have completed an extended period of service with an employer. Other benefits may also be offered for long service.

Long-service leave and benefits are not legal requirements but can be negotiated between an employer and employee as additional entitlements under an , or workplace policy. The length of time required for an employee to qualify for long-service leave will depend on what they have agreed to with their employer.
