Long service leave
Employees can negotiate long-service leave and long-service leave benefits with their employer.
Long-service leave is a period of additional leave granted to employees who have completed an extended period of service with an employer. Other benefits may also be offered for long service.
Long-service leave and benefits are not legal requirements but can be negotiated between an employer and employee as additional entitlements under an Employment agreements contain the terms and conditions of employment. Every employee must have a written employment agreement outlining the terms and conditions of employment. ‘Employment agreement’ has a broader meaning that includes all other documents and other agreements forming part of the contractual agreement between the employee and employer.
