Preparation for and negotiation of Multi-Employer Collective Agreements: Course No 499

The aim of this one day course is to provide participants with an understanding of the Employment Relations Act 2000, and the rights and responsibilities of both employers and employees, including collective bargaining.

In addition to the objectives listed above, by the completion of this course participants are also expected to be able to:

  • understand the principles of good faith and collective bargaining
  • be familiar with the concepts of both Multi-Employer Collective Agreements and Single-Employer Collective Agreements
  • prepare for collective negotiation
  • discuss mediation as a means of solving disputes.

Industrial Update and Engagement in the Workplace: Course No 613

This two and a half day course has been developed for delegates, union members and other health groups.

The course aims to enhance understanding of underlying principles of the Employment Relations Act 2000 by:

  • discussing the rights and obligations of both workers and employers, particularly in relation to bargaining
  • discuss the principles of Good Faith
  • discussing the role of Multi-Employee Collective Agreements
  • teaching about negotiation and mediation options
  • teaching skills in relation to research of historical material.
